back in the crate

After Skye's emergency in July (due to pyometra), she became reluctant to enter her wire crate. However, she remained excited about the daily egg treat she received when we put the chickens to bed. We continued our routine: placing a treat in the crate and walking away. Skye always managed to retrieve it by stretching her neck impressively far, putting just two paws in the crate.

After a month, we began randomly encouraging her to go further into the crate. When she put all four paws inside, we rewarded her with a jackpot of treats. A few weeks later, she started entering the crate completely and turning around inside. We heavily rewarded this behavior. Yesterday, she even went into the crate before we put any treats in it!

Very proud of our girl :)
