In the morning, Skye usually sleeps in until after we ate our breakfast and are ready to start the day. But once in a while, she quietly goes outside as soon as we wake up. She walks by us avoiding any interaction and curls up by the house.
During that time, she is scared of us and would go in the rain if we try to get her in. It's heartbreaking. But then, 10-15 minutes later, she comes back in the house all happy and wants to play with us.
Did she have a bad dream? Something she needed to process?
Moments like that reminds me where she came from and all the trauma she is still carrying.
